Re: Bloom
I think that the only song here where the remix works is Vox. Perhaps that is because it was originally done with multiple mixes, of multiple speeds, and so was not as jarring. "Answer" is a second, I'd say, although the double bass beat seems to be slightly off sync with the pace of the lyrics now and then. I much prefer the originals, and even some of the rough pre-release versions from The Freedom Sessions.
I would rate the remix of "Stupid" as the most jarring and displeasing, but this is probably because the original is so perfectly arranged. This new mix of "Fallen" just sounds like generic techno.
I understand that it's an attempt to get new fans, but I especially dislike "Just Like Me." It's not even the best example of an interesting or complex rap song, which is what I would have hoped for in a number Sarah was involved in.
Re: Bloom
I listened to this in hopes of finding a followup to the Mirrorball album that I so thourghly enjoy and listen to almost every day. I never tire of your soulful voice in that album and wish you would fire the mixer that drounds you out.
