If I know one thing, it’s this: music can carry us through our darkest times. For the past 20 years, this has been a cornerstone of our beliefs. Music is the sound that quiets the noise and restores us when the road gets bumpy. When it comes to kids, there’s no limit to music’s capacity to uplift and enrich. Connecting children and youth to the transformative power of music is our purpose and life’s work. It’s been a rough two years for everybody. A particular challenge for us was the need to sustain a connection when circumstances kept us apart. I am so proud of the staff and teachers of the Sarah McLachlan School of Music. Through their dedication, hard work and imagination, our students remained engaged with online instruction and safe in person class time. As we enter into our 20th year, we are stronger and more determined than ever to deliver the healing power of music to our communities. With your help and continued support, the sky’s the limit.

The Song

It was such a treat filming an episode of The Song at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego last year. The episode premiere’s on Saturday February 5th, you can visit TheSong.TV and click on “Station Finder” to view what cities and stations it is airing on. It is currently only available in the US but once the full season airs it will be available on The Song YouTube Channel.

April 26, 2021Sarah joins Lyle Lovett for a very special live stream event on April 30 at 6 pm PDT. April 25, 2020I am heartbroken by the tragic news in my home province of Nova Scotia. This devastating loss of life is unfathomable and my heart goes out to the victims and their families, first responders, and the entire community that has been affected by these senseless acts of violence. While I know that no words can take away the pain, I am sending love and peace to all. XoS

Sarah to sing O Canada the Raptors-Warriors Game 6!
June 13, 2019
Sarah will perform the national anthem at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California for Game 6 of the NBA finals! It could be Canadian history in the making, with the Toronto Raptors potentially clinching the NBA title against the Golden State Warriors.
“It’s a crazy big deal,” Sarah said, about to board her flight to California.
“We as Canadians don’t get that many opportunities to celebrate being Canadian … and I love that I get to represent, in a small way, my country.”
