Happy Mothers Day! Being a mother is as beautiful and rewarding as it is painful and devastating. It is the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Here's to being kind to ourselves and giving ourselves a hug and a pat on the back for doing the best we can in the hardest job there ever was... This morning, my daughters woke me with hot coffee and a bubble bath, then gave me beautiful hand made cards and diamond heart earrings from Claires that they bought themselves. These are sweet moments and I cherish them with all my heart...I hope all you mothers are having a wonderful day.... xoxo Sarah

The National Park Foundation announced today that Sarah will perform at the dedication ceremony of the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania on Saturday, September 10, 2011. Through a partnership between National Park Foundation and HISTORY, the dedication will be broadcast LIVE beginning at 12:30pm ET/ 9:30am PT on Flight93Dedication.org and on History.com.

“We are honored to have Sarah McLachlan perform at the dedication of the Flight 93 National Memorial,” said Neil Mulholland, president and CEO of the National Park Foundation. “Her music will complement the commemoration ceremony as we memorialize the passengers and crew of Flight 93 and all of the heroes of September 11.”

Sarah Receives Honorary Degree at SFU

An honorary degree was conferred on Sarah McLachlan on June 15th at the Simon Fraser University Burnaby convocation, making her a Doctor of Fine Arts. Video of her performance is below.

For the second show, at Vancouver's MusicFest on August 5th, Sarah will perform with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Tickets go on sale this week, so don't miss her in these fantastic settings!
